First Unreal Tournament 3 Bonus Pack Released

Like they do for just about every game it makes, Epic has released the first free bonus content for UT3.
Today, Midway and Epic Games announce that downloadable content for the award-winning first-person shooter, Unreal Tournament 3, is now available for PlayStation 3 and PC. The downloadable content consists of three deadly arenas: Morbias, Facing Worlds and Searchlight. PC users can find the new content at www.unrealtournament3.com, while PS3 users can download it directly from the PlayStation Network.

These downloads, which are free to all owners of Unreal Tournament 3, mark the latest achievement in providing the gaming community with unrivaled mods and superior experiences through the most recent installment in the Unreal Tournament franchise. While Unreal Tournament 3 shipped with 40 maps, and hundreds of user-created mods have been published since the game’s release, Midway and Epic are committed to providing fans with even more official content to further extend enjoyment of the game.

Morbias is the deathmatch arena that started it all, perfectly suited for anything from small intense duels to chaotic free-for-all matches. The Unreal Tournament classic, Facing Worlds was one of the most played maps in gaming history. This beloved sniper map makes its return alongside an intricate new capture the flag map, Searchlight, designed for both z-axis rooftop runs and strategic indoor gameplay. Returning classics and fresh new designs let you experience Unreal gaming like never before.

Mirrors (160 mb): UT3.com, WorthPlaying, Beyond Unreal, Atomic Gamer, FileFront.

I like the pack. However, I would really, really like the original DM-Phobos (Phobos Moon) to make a return for UT3 with nice high-resolution textures. It's still my favourite UT DM map of all time.

Yeah, I agree with you my favorite maps from the original were: DM_Zeto, DM_Face and DM_Phobos. Man that brings some good "fraggin" memories.

Definitely will download this on my PS3 when I get home from work. I'ts been a long time since I played Facing Worlds. It will be interesting to see what new tech will bring into the picture.

Lovely. Instead of crashing after 15 minutes, it now crashes while trying to start. Thanks, Epic!!! Keeping busy on milking the Gears of War 2 cow, I see.

As for the transloc, I have not seen a mutator around but that could well be due to the restrictions on the transloc in maps not created specifically for it. You can I believe spawn it yourself via the console and giveweapon utgame.utweap_(x). where (x) is the weapon name

I wish someone would do a new version of the Chaos mod. That was pretty fun.

Morbias is another oldie from Unreal. With the maps they've redone, and the music tracks right from UT99, UT3 is obviously supposed to rekindle happy-feelings in Unreal/UT99 players from the yonder era. I think it does for the most part. These maps should have been in the release game though, like many other things.

I think UT3 will eventually be a great part of the series, but obviously they screwed up the first impression.

"I think UT3 will eventually be a great part of the series, but obviously they screwed up the first impression."

Double that. First impressions Do Count !!

The " Colin: Dirt " demo made me buy the final product on Launch day.
UT3 demo made want to cancel my pre-order...!

Thankfully the final version is entertaining, it even excels in a few things I believe.
